One of the greatest challenges for safe homes was to find a house that could host 40 people at a time and still abide by standard safe house guidelines. Then when we had that house, a large percentage of expenses was spent on rent. An added stress was the fear of being forced out despite having a contract. To own a strong and functional house became our most urgent need. With tremendous hard work and the hearts of kind souls, the first step was taken in October 2016, when Apeiron purchased land to build a new Casa Nepal in Mulpani, Kathmandu.
The new building of Casa Nepal was designed with high regard for fire and seismic safety standards and maximum economic and environmental sustainability. Casa Nepal was able to shift to its own house in September 2019 which was the biggest achievement from the perspective of sustainability as well. Official inauguration was held on 25th November 2019 by the chief guest Hon. Mohana Ansari, member of Nation Human Commission. Representatives from governmental and non-governmental organizations including Mayor, Ward President, Acting director of Social Welfare Council were present in the event.
