Kageshwori Manohara Municipality organized a program at Mulpani on the occasion of 114 International Women’s Day on 9thof March. Being an organization working for a long time on the issues around gender equality and running a safe home for GBV survivors, CASA Nepal, in the same municipality, APEIRON was also invited to participate in the program.
On the occasion, women groups and organizations in the municipality were invited to display products made by the women for which space was provided to set up stalls. APEIRON took it as an opportunity to display and sale different items made by gender based violence (GBV) survivors of CASA Nepal. As one of the integral activities of CASA Nepal, the survivors were provided different skill development training on knitting, sewing, painting and making beads along with different types of small gift items. The event provided CASA Nepal the chance to show the products to the visitors and raise funds by selling the products. Additionally, survivors at the center took part in an orientation session for gender-based rights awareness. We express our deep gratitude to Kageshwori Manohara Municipality for inviting us to participate in the event and providing all necessary support needed.
On the occasion, the municipality also celebrated women leaders, organizations and groups for their contribution in promoting women’s rights.
