Project Summary:

The Agricultural Value Chain Development Project aims to improve livelihood security and women's economic empowerment in Patarashi rural municipality-4 & 7, Jumla district and prevent all forms of gender based violence and discrimination. After the successful implementation of 1st phase of AVCD project in Tila rural municipality of Jumla district, 2nd phase has came into implementation from January 2022 to September 2024 in Patarashi rural municipality with a motive to support 500 women farmers with various technical knowledge support along with essential agricultural input supports. Women farmers will be supported to increase their income through commodities sales. In addition to this, by the end of the project, women will be able to advocate for their rights by developing their capacity through conduction of public awareness classes on women's empowerment on a monthly basis to reduce various forms of violence against women. Benefeciary Selection Procedure

The project had selected the beneficiaries based on the following defined criteria;

  • Bean farmers have sufficient land for bean production and goat rearing farmers have at least three goats with sufficient fodder/forage availability for year-round,
  • Women headed household
  • Less income
